This striking men's yukata celebrates the legendary Cloud Dragon, inspired by a historic painting created by Japanese artist Suzuki Shonen in 1899. The original painting was commissioned by the Tenryu-Ji Zen Temple in Kyoto, whose name translates to “Temple of the Heavenly Dragon.”
Nearly a century later, a new rendition of the Cloud Dragon was commissioned in 1997 to commemorate the 650th anniversary of the death of the temple's founder. Today, the magnificent dragon painting adorns the temple ceiling, creating the remarkable impression that the dragon is watching visitors wherever they enter.
This yukata honors the spirit of that legendary artwork. Set against a deep navy-blue sky, gilded dragons emerge from swirling clouds, while gold calligraphy and contrasting shades of blue create a dramatic, sophisticated design. The combination of rich colors and traditional imagery makes this a truly distinctive Japanese robe.

XL/Wide (+$8.00) measures 58" in length with a wider and roomier fit. This yukata is designed to fit a man 5' 10" to 6' 2" tall. The sleeve length is 15", the shoulder width is 31", and the girth is 62".
