The girth measurement is the total width of the fabric when the robe is opened and laid flat. Because the happi coat wraps around the body and is secured with the matching belt, it can comfortably adjust to a variety of waist sizes.
For the best indication of where the 42" length will fall on you, measure with a tape measure from the top of your shoulder down the front of your body. Happi coats will naturally appear longer on shorter women and shorter on taller women.
