The Tradition of the Japanese Kamon
A Kamon is a traditional Japanese family crest used to identify an individual, family, or lineage. Historically associated with aristocratic and samurai families, Kamon became important symbols of identity and recognition and were incorporated into formal Japanese clothing.

The number and placement of crests could indicate the formality of a kimono. More formal garments traditionally featured multiple crests, including placements on the chest and center back.

The Tokugawa Crest Kimono features the Tokugawa Aoi, one of Japan's most recognizable family crests. The design depicts three hollyhock leaves enclosed within a circle and is associated with the powerful Tokugawa family, whose shoguns ruled Japan during the Edo period beginning in 1603.

Elegant and understated, the white embroidered crest stands out beautifully against the deep black fabric, giving this traditional men's kimono a distinctive sense of formality and Japanese heritage.

Premium Japanese Cotton Broadcloth
Made in Japan by skilled artisans, this kimono is crafted from 100% premium cotton broadcloth. The fabric's dense weave creates a smooth, subtly lustrous surface with a soft feel and a slightly crisp character. High-end dress shirts are often made with broadcloth.

Durable yet comfortable, broadcloth is lightweight and breathable, making it particularly pleasant to wear during warmer months while remaining comfortable throughout the year. Its refined texture gives the robe a polished appearance that complements the formal character of the Tokugawa Crest design.

The kimono includes a matching belt for an adjustable, comfortable fit.

Tokugawa Aoi Crest Embroidery
The distinctive Tokugawa Aoi crest is embroidered in white on both sides of the chest and at the center of the back, following the traditional placement associated with more formal Japanese garments.

The simplicity of the white-on-black design gives this kimono a sophisticated appearance while allowing the historic crest to remain the focus.
